MB slams Hadi for handshake snub

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has come under fire for refusing to shake hands with his Barisan Nasional (BN) election opponent yesterday. According to Terengganu Menteri Besar Idris Jusoh, such behaviour does not reflect well on a person who claims to lead an Islamic party. Idris said he was informed of the snub by the BN candidate for the Marang parliamentary seat, Dr Ahmad Ramzi Mohamad Zubir. The incident happened at the nomination centre where the two politicians filed their respective papers. Idris said this showed that Abdul Hadi (left) is 'arrogant and egoistic'. "As an Islamic leader, he should have not done that...but this is PAS," the menteri besar was quoted as saying by Bernama. "As a Muslim, Ramzi extended his hand and he also did this out of respect for him (Abdul Hadi) who is the former Terengganu menteri besar. But he responded by saying ‘dok payoh’ (no need)," he added.
